Must be my midlife crisis!

I am fast approaching 40 and have never been so depressed in my life.  DH and I have been trying to adopt for about 18 mos now due to (unexplained) infertility issues, I left my job of 7 years in 2006 to start my own biz and now in 2010 I am on my THIRD attempt at a biz.  This doesn't include all of the WAH biz's I have tried (AVON, GBG, Diamond Creek Candles, on and on). With no children and no career, I feel as though I have accomplished NOTHING in my time here on earth.  As though I am spinning my wheels and going no where.  I am starting a...

I swear in every WAH group I go into, I see the same things.  Scentsy, Work At Home United, AmeriPlan, AVON.  Does anyone have anything a little new and different that REALLY makes money? Please let me know if you do.

Ready to Let Go

I don't know about you, but periodically I go through my closet and my drawers and get rid of things that no longer make me happy.  Up until about a month ago, this used to really free up some much needed space in my soul.  I could take a deep breath after a long day of tidying up and feel refreshed.  Something changed though.  I have cleaned my closet, all of my dresser drawers, boxes in the basement and any other secret stash places out and nothing.  That sense of newness no longer overtakes me and I FINALLY figured out why!It's not just "things" I need to be...

She screwed us AGAIN!

Comments (3)
For those of you following my adoption saga, remember the BM that backed out on us not once, but twice?  WELL....she contacted me again last night and is here in MI.  Is willing to place the baby with us (at least she says).  The baby is now 5 mos old.  She backed out on us once 2 days before the birth and again 2 weeks after the birth when she had summoned us to TX to pick up the baby.  Am I nuts for giving her a third shot or was this my lesson in kindness and patience from the Good Lord?*************UPDATE*****************Well, the BM screwed us...

Forging Ahead

Well ladies, I must be making progress.  I got banned from abcadoptions.com's Yahoo Group (2adopt) and forum!! They didn't want me recruiting for my cause on their site. Heaven forbid couples should be told they are getting ripped off.  Trully A. LukeFounder ~ M.A.M.A. (Making Adoption More Affordable)

Woman accused of adoption scam

INDIANAPOLIS - Amber Jackson pretended to be pregnant and deceived at least five families desperate to adopt children, bilking them out of more than $6,000 in about five months, police said.    Jackson, 28, allegedly admitted to the scam and was arrested at her Indianapolis home Friday on charges of forgery, theft and adoption deception. She is also under investigation for welfare fraud for allegedly using false information to obtain Medicaid and food stamps, police said.   "It was really disheartening hearing about...

Got Books? Want Books? This is FREE!

Do you have any used books lying around? Ones you've already enjoyed, but you're never going to read again? I did, and I finally found a great way to share them with other people! It seems that a few guys were sitting around one night talking about all the paperback books that they purchased over the years while traveling on business. Each of them had a large stack of books that they had read, so they decided to set up a website at Paper Back Swap.com that allows all of us to swap books with each other. Don't let the name fool you.  You can swap...

Adoption = Bankruptcy

I know that many of you are already mommas, but I'd still like your support.I have had this on my heart for a while and I feel that it is God's calling on my life.  After again inquiring about the fees of a newborn needing immediate placement and being told the atty fees were $20,000, I have decided NOW is the time.  I am forming a group who is willing to help me make some changes in the adoption arena.  MAMA (Making Adoption More Affordable).  The simple fact that couples are maxing out credit cards or taking out second mortgages on their homes in order...
