Yesterday I had planned to leave work at 12:30 to take Ethan to a dr.'s appointment. At 11:00 my boss called me into his office and told me he was closing his business and that it was my last day. Only an hour and a half notice! 4 days shy of four months. So, now I'm back to looking for a job again. Found one posting that I'm really hoping to get. It is an IT job at a high school, doing pretty much the same thing I did when we lived in Arkansas. Please pray that I get the job!

The other day DH and I were hanging out in the living room while the boys were playing in their room. I was checking out a man's cook book DH had purchased and found a recipe for deep fried turkey (which we love!). I exclaimed: "Hon, deep fried turkey!" The boys heard this and Ethan called out "Where?" Without missing a beat, DH said "Running down the street!" The boys were a bit quiet for a moment then Zach yelled "Did we miss it?"
They actually took him serious! After we both were able to stop laughing enough to talk, I explained to the boys what we were really talking about. It is...

Last week we had to go back to Indiana. This time Todd's grandmother, Hazel, had passed away, just 9 days short of her 101st birthday. This may sound harsh, but it was a long time coming. Grandma was bedridden for well over a year, couldn't hear, see or speak very well and was suffering from bedsores that just would not go away. The Alzheimers didn't help, either. Towards the end, she was on Morphine and oxygen and hadn't eaten or drank for several days. It's a wonder she held on that long.
We were going to leave Omaha for home on Sunday, the 31st, but Ethan woke up early that morning with...

The boys and I have been in Omaha for three weeks now. I have to say, it has been rough and an emotional rollercoaster!
About a month ago DH found a house in the neighborhood that was up for rent. He went to the company that is renting it out for the owner (who is still living in the house) and got the information on the rent and such. Unfortunately, we've been given a runaround since. They kept telling us different information on when we could move in, didn't want us talking to the owner and keep stalling on giving us a lease, even though we had paid the deposit. So, we went looking for...

When DH and I first met he was home on leave in Indiana and was about to pcs to North Carolina. We ended up dating for three years before getting married, the entire time I stayed in IN while he was stationed in NC. We have been married 13 years now.

After our first night in Omaha, the first place I get to visit in town was... the ER! That's right! ended up at Allegiant with a kidney stone. The pain was so bad that morphine wasn't helping so the had to switch to a synethic version, which was great! I spent one night there and was still in quite a bit of pain the next morning. The doctor came in and said he wanted the urologist to see me and figure out what we needed to do. OK, fine. Lunch came, I was feeling up to eating (finally over the flu) and just as I was going to take my first bite the nurse came in and said the urologist...

Well, the boys and I finally made it to Omaha. It was a bit rough, driving over 600 miles with intesinal flu, two 7-year-olds and a broken DVD player! But, we did make it yesterday. After we got here I spent the rest of the day on the couch in our friend's basement, our current home until we can move into the rental we found a block away. Still not myself today. Sure hope this flu goes away soon. I've had it for 6 days now and thought I would be fine by now. Tomorrow I have a job interview with Union Pacific and sure hope I don't have the urge to run to the bathroom while there!

DH didn't get the job! We thought for sure that he had it since he was called back for an interview. Plus, our friend that works there said that if DH gets an interview, he has a 99% chance of getting the job. We are so disappointed. We banked everything on this, I even quit my job and DH already has the movers scheduled. He still wants to go up to Omaha, though, because he liked the area so much. Since we don't have anything to tie us down here in AR, then why not? At this point we can pretty much go wherever we want. The boys and I are still going to Indiana for a couple of weeks...

Change in plans. DH wants us to stay here in Arkansas until the 18th so I can help him with the new cabinets in the kitchen. Really wanted to leave tomorrow. :(
