Trials and Tribulations

Comments (8)
That certainly would describe this year.Almost lost my marriage to some bimbette co-worker who was building an emotional attachment to my husband (and vice versa) because HER marriage sucked and was falling apart and started boo-hooing to my husband who would listen, and you know how things go from there. We had it out-Majorly had it out-and my husband was able to see through the illusion-Quit his job on HIS OWN behalf and we moved 10hrs away to another state to rebuild our our marriage and to make a better future for our daughter. He's enrolled in a technical school-keeping a 4.0 grade...

Important Info About Reyes Syndrome

Comments (1)
When I was in 8th grade, this beautiful little girl,I believe her name was Kathy Keister came down with Reyes Syndrome after a virus. Back in the '80's not enuf research about the dangers of treating fever with aspirin or other salicylate based products(this includes Pepton Bismol) was public knowledge. Kathy quickly went from a virus to on a respirator on life support. Kathy died 12 days later. Kathy was this small angel-She was tinier than other classmates her age, with hair so blond it was almost white.Kathy's hair was so long, past her behind, worn in a long single braid. She...

"When you thought I wasn't looking" (shared by marikomat)

Comments (2)
WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING Written by a former child... A message every adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life. When you...

MURDER IS NOT A SOLUTION TO AUTISM!!!!!

Comments (13)
I'm only sorry for the fact I know many others will have more grace and compassion for this Mom than I do. People who kill children,People who kill their OWN children I feel should suffer the same cruel, disgusting torture (yes, with the summary of death). There's NO excuse in my opinion (Granted...If in a case where true Post Partum Depression is PROVEN by Dr's and Psychologists I will make an exception IN MY OPINION and lay off death as punishment) But children are gifts, precious gifts. As a mother of a child with Autism this angers me even more. ...

I honestly don't get bugged out when (though rarely -so far-in our own personal experience) people say "Oh...your child doesn't look (Insert "Like they have autism" "autistic" or "there's something wrong")Why don't I get bugged out??? Cuz I EXPECT ignorance...also I understand that people are still new to autism and when they say "Oh your child doesn't look"-they mean it as being familiar with Downes children,or children with mental retardation where there are VISIBLE facial characteristics. Other than mom's of ASD kids...

My words....(Inspiration for Mom's of Autistic and Special Needs Children)

Comments (25)
Why we were "chosen" is still a mystery.Somewhere, somehow we apparently are looked upon with greater strength than we know, which is brought forth each day as we live our lives, making the best of meltdowns, reveling in the small accomplishments, just LIVING our lives. The world does not stand still for those of us with special needs children. We still must get up to face each day.Though our day does not speed along at the same pace as the rest of the world, through "this" slowing down,WE are able to see the beauty our children help bring forth. These children, though not what we...
