Dummies (some call them other cute names like pacies and binkies)

Comments (5)
But I refuse to call it anything else - it's a fake replica of a human body part! And that's what we call fake replicas of a human body or a body part.       A dummy is a fake nipple, used to substitute a real thing - mom's breast.I HATE it when breastfeeding women call themselves pacifiers! :(

How to choose a baby carrier.

Be the first to comment
If you've browsed baby carriers around you know how many choices are out there! From Wal-mart and Target carriers to big brand names like Maya Wrap or Ergo available on-line or in small boutiques only and finally to WAHM made ones that are flooding e-bay, Etsy and the like. How do you ever make sense of all of this variety? Rule #1 DON'T buy your carrier from a local big department store. Yes, it's convenient, but besides supporting a big corporation who exploits little children and desperate women in China, it is very unlikely that you'll find something of great quality. ...

Seperation Anxiety.

Comments (3)
You close the bathroom door and she screams, you have to cook and she screams, you try to leave her in the nursery and she screams screams, screams and screams some more. What  is going on?Seperation anxiety is a normal stage of development. The baby now knows that he and mommy are 2 different, seperate people. The problem is that they don't know the concept of time and space yet. So when the mommy is out of sight, they don't know that she'll come back in some time, or that she still exists in another place.. She is just GONE! And that's a scary thought even for a grown up! All...

My tandem nursing experience.

Comments (4)
I have just posted it in a response to a nursing through pregnancy question, and it brought so many sweet memories, that  I though I should post it hear too, so I can find it later. I have nursed through pregnancy.. and then tandem... twice. Definitely a challenge, but for me it was easier than NOT to nurse. It hurt and we agreed to limit nursing to certain times , and we agreed to always open WIDE so it doesn't hurt, so after that it was MUCH easier! Nursing on demand is mostly for the 1st year, after that it is totally ok to apply some rules and restrictions that will make...

Udder Cover

Comments (4)
Let's put aside the fact that I am against the covers altogether or that I hate it that they have pretty models on their website instead of real moms... I sincerely do not understand why those things are so popular? I see moms talking about them in several groups that I go to. WHY would anybody want to buy from somebody who is calling their breasts  an udder?? I am not a cow or a goat and I shudder ever time I come across that name! My first languauge is Russian. And in Russian if somebody is calling your breasts and udder he is really really trying to offend you and is totally asking...

Now breastfeeding is a disfunction too.. WHAT???

Comments (19)
My husband sent me a link to this article..http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,537261,00.html?test=latestnewsLet's put aside the fact that I would never buy such a doll, like I never buy nursing clothes :))) but what a sicko wrote this? What's wrong with a little girl (or a boy for that matter) nursing her dollies just like mommy? Millions of little children do it all over the world and have done so ever since a first doll was created...  And comparing breastfeeding to erectile disfunction??? That's just wrong. With all the talk about breastfeeding and the research about how wonderful...

PIOG Breastfeeding Offensive!

Comments (51)
I'm thankful for not having boobs thrown in my face all the time by offensive and indecent breastfeeding mothers like the ones below: Wait...Well, this is a bad example. Let's try again.Hmm...Just a minute. I'm sure I can find better ones than these... Eh, still not offensive enough. I'll check one more time. That is better. LOOK AT THAT! I see about a half inch of boob. DISGUSTING. UGH. Look at tha

3 easy signs of readiness for solids. Let's end the confusion once and for all.

Comments (6)
I am goin to make is really easy for you and narrow down the signs to just 3. They are Baby can sit up well without support.Yup, if you have to prop the baby up to feed, like in the picture - he is NOT ready. Baby has lost the tongue-thrust reflex and does not automatically push solids out of his mouth with his tongue. Yeah, we all have seen it - the mouth opens, the spoon goes in and the green stuff oozes out. Mom collecs the ozzing stuff off of baby's chin and chest and shoves it back in. The baby's tongue thrust reflex is not gone yet - the baby is NOT ready.Baby is developing a...
