My brother purchased tickets to take my children to a concert in Minn last month as an early xmas gift. My son purchased a ticket on your bus line to go from Cedar Falls where he goes to college to Mason City to meet my brother and my daughter along the way so they wouldn't need to drive out of their way to get him. Today, he arrived in plenty of time back to catch the bus. The time for the bus came and he asked the clerk if there was somewhere special he should wait. This clerk had no idea. He then asked a second clerk who then told him the bus stop was 2........ yes 2 blocks...

What would it take to convince you to adopt a soldier?

In Iraq, right now, more people are dying from suicide than combatrelated deaths. This worries me. I know that when a soldier receivesmail it raises moral. It also lowers it when a soldier doesn't receivemail. I've been here for a 1 1/2 months. In that time two soldiers havecommitted suicide.
I don't get a chance to see everybody in my unit every day. But I worryabout them all. I do not want another soldier to take their own life.There are so many...

Writing letters to soldiers.... my passion!
Comments (2)Ever since the war started, the kids and I have wanted to do something special for our troops. We have joined several different organizations to help write letters, send cards and packages to troops that have been deployed. I have been doing alot with 2 groups. Adopt a platoon and Soldier Angels. Last night, Shelli with Soldier Angels emailed out that she needed help with a group. Of course, I emailed back right away that I could help out. I am now the proud leader of my own group of women who take care of a group of deployed women! I'm so excited! Soldier Angels has a branch called Ladies...

DHL SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comments (5)I use DHL for shipping for my home biz and for packages for friends and family. I log on today to send out a raffle package to the winner and I can't! It says they don't service my area anymore???? WTF???? So, I email the customer service and here is what I get........Hi Paula,Unfortunately this is correct, due to network restructuring DHL will not be servicing your area any more. I apologize for this. Well, I dropped the kids off at UNI yesterday. It was the hardest thing I've done yet. =( Now, to pass some of the six weeks that they will be gone, I'm doing em's room! I have invited some of her friends to come help so, this could get interesting..... ;)Here are some of the before pics of her room....... I haven't painted it since we moved in in 2000......lol! Tornado hits boyscout camp.... fatalities...... =(
Comments (6)Tonight, a tornado hit a boyscout camp an hour north of Omaha........ as of now, 4 are said killed, 40 injured. Please pray for these families. There were 100 children at the camp from Council Bluffs. My heart breaks for these families........as now we await the same line of storms. Thank the lord they have grown a tad weaker. They have rarely kept in contact with me or my dad until the last year. When they do happen to call him, it's collect and they usually want something... usually money which he wont give them. They are rude to my mom on the phone too. My mom goes out of her way to be nice to them.
