Description:
I have a 1 year old who ( not every night) but some nights he will wake up, and will not go back to sleep until hours later. Like yesterday he woke up at 2:30 in the morning, WIDE AWAKE, ready to go, and was not the least bit sleepy, he did not fall back asleep until 4:30 in the morning. I just don't understand it, he plays all day , why wouldn't he just sleep through the night? Does anyone else have this issue?

Do you have a 1 year old who wakes up in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep?

I have a 1 year old son and he only wakes up once at night for a bottle...but he goes right back to sleep. What time do you put your child down for bed? If he goes to bed too early, he'll probably wake up early. My son goes to bed between 9pm and 10pm.

He wakes but only enough to nurse. After that, he goes right back to sleep. His eyes don't even open.

My son is 17 months and he usually wakes up at about 4 am or so for a cup of milk. He'll just take it to bed and go back to sleep on his own. If I were you I wouldn't stay up with him. Just let him stay in his crib playing. He'll go to sleep on his own after a while.

What do you do when he wakes up? Always keep the atmosphere sleepy, and don't change his diaper if you can help it because that is very stimulating.

I keep my eyes closed and the lights off except for the night light, and I try to pretend like im still sleeping with my eyes closed so maybe he can understand that its still bedtime. . But to no avail. Hes a tough nut! MOst of the time he wakes up only for feedings and hes right back to sleep.. BUt sometimes, he just decides to stay awake.

My son has been sleeping through the night since he was 3 months old. The only time he wakes up at night, is when he is sick (and that isn't very often). My son is a great sleeper!

My daughter was waking up alot and staying up for hours just like that around 2:30 the doctor said at her 12 month check up to let her cry it out, it took two nights of screaming for a few hours straight but now she is 21 months and always sleeps through the night. It's great!
