Description:
Help me with a problem another momma has with me and my 8 month old baby.

OK, I have a problem here. I have a momma who says I am disrespecting the American flag by draping it around my child and letting it touch the ground. It is a professional pic, on a white canvas-no dirty floor. I will put what the momma wrote and wha

  • Yes, you are disrespecting the American flag, even though it's not on a dirty floor, but on a clean white canvas.

This is what the momma wrote. Please go see the picture on my profile before you vote. Here's what she sent to me:
I have many vets in my family as well, but the flag is not touching the ground, it is on white canvas. I am VERY intolerant of the flag touching the ground, BUT I considered this not to be the ground, since it is on white canvas. I would NEVER dishonor the American flag-EVER. It is a VERY patriotic picture and has won many contests. I am sorry you thought it was on the ground, but rest easy, because it's on the canvas. The canvas is totally clean, no dirt. To be put on a dirty floor or ground is disrespectful. This was not the case. I will take a poll on this on the Cafemom group and we will see if anyone thinks it is disrespectful. Thankyou for your concern. If the majority thinks it as disrespectful, I will take the pic off.

I can't believe you would disrespect an American flag by using it as a drape on your child and allowing it to touch the ground.

Your son is adorable, but that is just so ....wrong.

My husband is a disabled vet and he lost some good friends in combat. It seems like a dishonor to their memory (not to mention every other great American who sacrificed for our country) to use our flag as a decorative costume for a photo.

I think that its a great picture. Very adorable. Who cares who likes it or not all that matters is if you like it, you paid for the pictures.

The fact that you have your precious son wrapped in a beautiful flag shows only that you love your country. If you were wiping your baby's butt with it, then I could see someone taking issue with it.

You're suppose to bury the flag if it touches the ground. That is what is traditionally done if I remember correctly. I can understand why she is so pissed.

I love it momma. I think it's a beautiful picture and represents two things that you are proud of; your child and your country.
