My 1st daughter LOVED her jonny jumper, with my 2nd we didnt have the door way you need with jonny, so she used the saucer.

My son's Occupational Therapist advised me that the jumper toys and the saucer toys are problematic to proper development. In layman's terms...they are harmful for the baby's walking abilities. She informed me that the saucers were being taken off of the market in Canada for these very reasons. Hope that this helps you in your decision making.

I didn't vote. My son had probably everything you could imagine [except a walker] and I only put him in his jumper or exerscaucer for 15 minutes a day IF he uses them [his Doctor agreed]... and I REFUSE to have him use a walker. They don't NEED it... they didn't have it back in the day... and my son is great, way ahead of schedule with things at every check up and then some. I think parents these days are too much in a rush to have their kids do this or that and buy this to help them, etc. Put them on the floor and let them develope on their own. Some take longer than others... they will all get their in their own time.

Saucers are fine. The problems comes when they are being used for hours a day. My daughter uses her exersaucer for 15-20 minutes, twice per day. I'm sure it won't affect her ability to walk properly!! good grief!!

My son had all those things and used them all alot, except the Bumbo which isnt really a toy. I got most of my big items like that second hand at garage sales or through Craigslist. If you want to try to get more then one of those things I think secondhand is the way to go! If you can only do one I would go with an exersaucer.

Walkers I actually found out are not considered safe... IT was in all the stuff they sent home from the hospital. Because they can knock into things and stuff like that. We have a jumper and our baby is 5months old and she loves jumping in it and playing with the toys every which way. We have the baby enstien one and it swivels to.
