Considering the fact that three of the people I consider best friends are either A. People I've known since high school or, in the case of my husband--B. Married to him! I used to go hang out at my female best friend's parents' house and she at my parents' house...same with her husband...one of my other best friends, and considering I've been married to my husband for nearly 5 years, it would've been a little odd if they hadn't at least come to the wedding (unless health reasons, because my mom-in-law does have alzheimer's).

ive known my best friend for almost 26 years (our whole lives). her mom and my dad went to high school together. our mothers were pregnant at the same time and they were neighbors too
and the same thing happened to us, our children are only a couple months apart from age. we always joked about growing up and being pregnant at the same time, creepy it actually happened. haha

Uh, not only has my BF met my mom, if I show up at my mom's or some family function without her, everybody says 'Where's Stacy?'...LOL! After 25yrs, she's part of the family!

I think it all depends on when the friendship started. I have incredibly close efriends that I've met as an adult, and it would be just bizarre for them to go out of their way to introduce me to their parents. We are both grown women with kids, and homes of our own. When I was younger and living at home as a teenager, then of course I knew my friends' parents. . .but now, it's kind of moot, isn't it???

If you met as adults, each having your own place, then, no, I don't think it's weird. My best friend was 19 and still lived with her mom when we met, so I have met her mom, but have never seen her since my friend got her own place (7 years ago). And she's never met my mom.
