i dont know why they say to get a cool air one, they dont really work that well, i guess it is just safer with kids (they cant get burned but it still is not safe with the water and electricity soooo) i perfer and use the warm air ones because i think they make more steam... jmo

Cool air is safer for children. Amalia, you're not going to get SHOCKED unless there's electricity running through the water, which means your humidifier is broken. They're not that dumb when they design them. :)

I like the warm mist cause then I can add the Vicks liquid into it. I love when my house smells like vicks! LOL but we only use it when someone has a cold or cough

If children are around I say cool mist. My brother burned his hand when he was 2 on a hot mist.

Our family uses a cool mist humidifer because we have found out that when using a warm humidifer in a heated room the vapors tend to make the air thicker and makes it alittle harder to breath.

I like to cool mist. I live in Southern California next to the beach we have enough humidity going on. At any rate the warm one makes my kids sweaty and uncomfortable.
