Description:
Just want to know because my friends and I were talking and it seems like out of everyone who didn't get a diploma/graduated - that those people who ended up being in prison or some sort of trouble with the law and that was either ordered or not to get their GED, did end up getting their GED. But others who did not get in trouble with the law, never did get theirs. So I just want to ask a broader group of people about themselves instead of just my friends:

Question regarding high school:

  • Received diploma/graduated

    91%
  • Court program or prison and received GED

    0%
  • Court program or prison, did NOT received GED

    0%
  • Never walked, never received GED, no court program or jail

    7%

I graduated from high school but my husband didn't. In fact he dropped out when he was in 8th grade. He failed a few grades and was 16 and just stopped going. He never went to high school. He spent a couple years bumming around, working off and on and then finally went and got his GED because he didn't want to be a dumb hick the rest of his life.
And he didn't fail because he's dumb. He's very smart. he just hates school. I saw some of his report cards and he was getting straight As most of his time in school.

I got my High School Equiv. Basicly, my GED and some college Government courses.. It wasn't court ordered or anything.. Did it on my own, I dropped out of High School but was a straight A student, just got bored in classes, passed my GED with 100+ points over what was required.. I'm smart just hated wasting time in classes...

I Received diploma/graduated. I was really far behind at the start of my senior yr but somehow I pulled it off. I have 5 sibblings. One of the 5 didn't graduate, never got a GED, no troubles w/ the law. Shoot the kid never got in any trouble. But he sunk in a deep depression and just stayed in the basement all the time. It was sad. He's better now, but too afraid to go get his GED

I received my Diploma after the school year class graduation. My parents sent me to Germany during the last 2 months of highschool. The school agreed that I could come back, take my tests and still graduate with a Diploma if I pass the tests and also had to write an essay on my trip to Germany.
I didn't get to go to my prom or graduation, but I got my diploma when I came back... *Class of 94*

I graduated and got my diploma. I have done some college. My mother just got her GED a few years ago. It was really cute. My mom and aunt both got their GED's and went to college after that together. They helped each other out a lot.
