he obviously doesn't understand the "work" that Moms do during the day. Does he want you to work so you can pay someone else to watch your baby? At 17 I doubt you can make more than it would cost to pay for child care.

I wouldn't leave him. It took a very long time for my husband to even begin to understand all of the work that goes into being a SAHM. I would just try to talk to him and make sure he knows everything you do throughout the day so he stops calling you lazy. Your baby needs you at home. Don't leave him during this time of his life.

Is there anything you can make to sell on ebay or esty? Then you wouldn't have to leave your baby to earn money. Or maybe there is a mom in your neighborhood who would pay you to watch her kids when they get off the bus until she gets home. When I was your age I babysat and worked at KFC. Didn't have kids yet.

if you get a job, and expect him to do housework to compensate, maybe he would understand and you would get along better! i think working is a great thing for a family.

Better start talking and working things out. Life gets really hard and having a child especially at your age is difficult.Your child needs you at this time could you work part-time?

I can't believe people are telling you to work things out with a guy who yells at you and calls you lazy. He sounds like he is emotionally abusive. Do you have any family you could stay with until you can get on your feet? I wouldn't stay with this man if he treats you like this.

Sigh, men...... I was in the same boat as you, except I was 16. My daughters sperm donor, was physically, emotionally, mentally abusive, controlling and possesive. A real winner. lol. Anyway, this isn't a good situation for your child to grow up in. I agree w/ joanlov, even now at 27 it would be impossible for me to get a job w/out ending up owing money 4 childcare. Besides, your child needs you. I can't tell you to stay or leave though. True your child needs both parents, and you're young, but your child needs a good environment to grow up in too.

OTHER -- Have him research the cost of day care. Watch him change his mind real quick! We are lucky to have retired Grandparents to watch our sons.

there should be state programs that'll help out young mothers, especially if you're not working, to help pay for daycare. my hubby & I worked and sent our 2 tots to daycare& only spent $240 a month, because we were enrolled in a special state program. check it out. and hang in there.
