For the vast majority of pregnancies, definitely a midwife. Occasionally an OB is warranted, but midwives are more than capable, if not better, than an OB

MIDWIFE!!!!! I have one for this pregnancy and already I've had such a better experience. Not that my OB last time didn't have a great manner. I loved her until she came into the delivery room. Everything we had discussed went right out the window. With my midwife she KNOWS what I want and she's working with me to get just that. She can recite how I'd like to birth and my choices on most things. And the all around care you get is phenomenal. A friend had one and the aftercare visits... She can answer questions about everything from birth to baby to your after care whereas an OB generally won't answer anything regarding baby.

I had midwives with my first two children, but they weren't so great. I had an OBGYN for my last child, and he was an excellent doctor!
