Description:
I cannot turn down the time and a half at this time, with our finances the way they are. DH has paid vacation, so he's taking the kids to my IL's, and I am staying home and working my normal shift.
(BTW, DH is a jeweler, works FT...and I work in a gas station PT.)

NOTE: I'm Pagan, and DH is Agnostic. I don't celebrate "Christmas" but if the boss is going to offer time and a half, I'm taking it. Both of our families are Christian, and celebrate Christmas. We as a family do celebrate "X-mas", the secular, Americanized holiday with the Santa Clause mythos, but no "Baby Jesus". So working on Dec. 25 is no biggy to me.

Neither of my DH's places of business are open Christmas... but since we don't celebrate it, I'm sure he'd be up for time and 1/2 and would work Christmas Day.

My husband just started his new job so we didn't feel like he could ask for it off.

Technically we may not be at our place of employment. We are both funeral directors/embalmers. The other guy that works with us starts vacation Wednesday. So hubby and I will be "on call" until the 26th. If there is no death, we will be home. If there is a death, we will only be at work long enough to do what has to be done. Not too bad!
