I cannot turn down the time and a half at this time, with our finances the way they are. DH has paid vacation, so he's taking the kids to my IL's, and I am staying home and working my normal shift.
(BTW, DH is a jeweler, works FT...and I work in a gas station PT.)

NOTE: I'm Pagan, and DH is Agnostic. I don't celebrate "Christmas" but if the boss is going to offer time and a half, I'm taking it. Both of our families are Christian, and celebrate Christmas. We as a family do celebrate "X-mas", the secular, Americanized holiday with the Santa Clause mythos, but no "Baby Jesus". So working on Dec. 25 is no biggy to me.

No, but I stay at home and he works whatever hours he wants to (self employed). We're going to the casino for brunch Xmas morning.

No,both our businesses are closed Christmas. We do both however, have to work the next day. Ahh, nothing like a bunch of returns to jump start the end of the holiday season.

My husband mentioned he might put in a double on Christmas (he works for the airlines). He's be gone before we get up and come home after the kids are in bed. But we live close enough the airport that he can come home for lunch and the airport isn't busy. He did it one year when the kids were babies. I left half the presents for when he came home to eat lunch and he ate and watched them open the rest of their stuff. We eat Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve so as long as he is home for dinner that day I'm happy. We're not Christian but we celebrate the secular side of the holiday.
I've never worked on Christmas because the jobs I had were all closed on Christmas. I worked every other holiday, though.

DH might be working Christmas. The Holiday schedule hasn't been made yet. He & I have both worked it in the past; he's in the military and I used to be. It's no biggie for us. If we were going somewhere, we'd put in for leave. However, we don't think it's a good idea for us to fly home with me being in my third trimester starting Christmas week... so we're staying put.

Man, I'd LOVE time and a half. That would kick butt.

If we are lucky enough to find a job by then it is likely one or both of us will be working on Christmas. Neither me or my hubby are ones to turn down time in a half when we are offered it. And with us both in the Culinary field it is more often than not that we find ourselfs having to work on the hollidays.
