Don't think it much matters what anyone CLAIMS to be, a man that kills millions isn't probably high in heaven's ranking. I can claim to be anything I want, a Christian is a type of person, someone who strives to live for Christ. Anyone not doing that, regardless of what they say, is not a Christian, no matter whether they believe he existed.

So true, hsalvatore. Both Jim Jones, and David Koresh are proof positive, that even though they both claimed to be men of God, their actions spoke much louder. In killing so many people, in the name of their religion, well, that in itself shows they probably had gotten so far from God,they really weren't sure what they were by the time they died.

IMO no one that did things the way he did could be an athiest. Not that there are evil people in all religions, there are. But the way he felt that certian people were better simply because of religion or way of life or apperience... Those beliefs all stem from the belief that GOD made certian people better. And Athiest would see all people as equil - different from one another but equilly made. Where Hitler believed that certain people were born less than he was and needed to be "delt with." He didn't feel they were even on the same evolutionary path as he. Therefore no matter what his actual religion, which there is really no proof of, he wasn't athiest... He believed in God.

Hitler's parents may have baptised him in the Catholic church, they also may have made him serve as an alter boy. Hitler the man was not a practicing Catholic.

    Here are some Hitler quotes:

The heaviest blow which ever struck humanity was Christianity; Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew."

"The law of selection justifies this incessant struggle, by allowing the survival of the fittest. Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure."

And a song sung by the Hitler youth:

We are the joyous Hitler youth,
We do not need any Christian virtue
    Our leader is our savior
The Pope and Rabbi shall be gone
We want to be pagans once again." -

I couldn't get past the first few sentences without puking. I'm sorry, but that article was quite biased. Yes he was baptized as a Catholic, but the Church didn't make him who he was, and he never did the horrible things he did in the name of the church. The man was sick and twisted and did not represent anyone but himself. To say he was either catholic, or atheist would be an insult to both groups.

i already knew that Hitler wasnt an atheist, but i dont think its fair to say he did all those horrible things b/c he was Catholic. it coulda been b/c he was beaten as a child, or constantly rejected. no one ever does horrible things b/c of one thing in their life. Hitler is an outlier when it comes to ppl of faith. one horrible person does not negate all the great things others have done in faith.

the thing that ive always found interesting about Hitler...he wanted to preserve the airan (sp) race yet he had brown hair & eyes...makes no sense haha

Hitler was NOT a Christian! No one truly walking with Christ would have millions of people slaughtered! If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, anyone can SAY they are a Christian but to be truly of Christ you must not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. Satan believes in Jesus, doesn't make him a Christian!

After many years studying history, I have come to know that it is historical fact that Hitler considered himself to be a Christian.
