Are you serious? Is this a real question? Maybe all those false religions? They are the ones that cause all the craziness and mayhem in the world. Those that truly love God can achieve. Please, look at the facts, read your bible and believe.

Yes, although it might become a bit overpopulated without all those people being killed in the name of "god".

Let's look at some issues in history... the Holocaust... The Dark Ages... mass murders and destruction done in the name of what? Oh yeah. Religion.

Studies show, as well, that the rate of NON-religious citizens is directly related to how well the country does as a whole - from it's poorest person to the richest guy. And no surprise, countries that are NOT run by religion do a lot more for every citizen than the countries who have a religious majority.

RanaAurora...should we all just hop on the Communist bandwagon? I'm guessing that you think that North Korea is doing just great! Oh, and the holocaust that would be because someone LACKED a religion and thought HE was God!

How sad that someone can even ask this question and especially here at Christmas time. Let's change it to read....would the world be a better place without religious fanatics who are actually insane???? Of course it would, but we'll always have them. God created our world and us, how can we ignore Him?

    Absolutely!!!

Julie it shouldn't be a problem, because without religion you wouldn't have people breeding irresponsibly like the Duggers.

"....would the world be a better place without religious fanatics who are actually insane????"

EXACTLY!! They are the problem, NOT religion itself. IMO, life is pretty sad if you have no faith, and no comfort in believing you have something to look forward to when you and your loved ones die! If someone doesn't want to believe in religion, it's their choice...just leave my religion alone.

While I do see a benefit from spirituality, I do think that organized religion leads to too many blindly-following, non-thinking extremists. And this happens in *all* religions. The minute you turn off your mind and accept something against your intelligence - you have set yourself up for deceit and manipulation. And the power to condemn others to hell eternally, will corrupt even the best-intentioned human being. Religions seem to bring out the worst in all of us. Wars, terrorism, strife. None of that is what Christ (Allah, Buddha, Mohammed, take your pick) intended.
    Peace...

What this country's done so far to remove religion hasn't had a positive effect. Just look at statistics since prayer was removed from school - on teen suicide, teen pregnancy and abortions, violence in general, and crime. No - the world would not be a better place without religion.

Haven't we learned anything? Or are statistics too obscure for us? Well, then maybe we sould just open our eyes and look around.

See many happy, cheerful shoppers this Christmas season? No. How about that beautiful plaque being placed up at every nation's capital? Does that sound kind and cheerful to anyone in light of the Holiday season? No. It sounds crabby and bitter - which is exactly what this country is going to be without God.
