Just a thought here..when naming your child, ask yourself if YOU would want that for a name..It makes the decision much easier,at least for me it did.

I just pick names based on what I like and that works for me.

my name is Lauren and i always wanted a more unique name. so my first is named Celeste and my second is named Leila. I think they are unique but they can live with them. I hope they like them, but chances are they will want a normal name :)

I picked lillian out because i loved that name I haven't run across but one in my entire life. So I loved classic names, the lily is my favorite flower, and I would love that name for my daughter. I picked out John for our boy because we wanted to carry on the family name and my husband likes his name because he is named after someone important to the family history.

My name is Alyssa and people have always mispronounced and misspelled my name. I could never put my kids through that, so I'll be sticking with the 'normal' names. Their wonderful personalities will come out either way, and they will always be special to me :)

I have to watch myself because I always wanted a more unique name, so I'm sure all my children will wish for more "normal" names

I named my daughter Kylie Jade and that isn't unique nor normal it's just a name! I've heard quite a few Kylie's but to spice it up I call her Kylie Jade by her first and middle name. If I ever have a boy I like Gavyn not sure of the middle name but he will be called by both too...

I think names fit individuals. A name for my child wouldn't fit me, just like a name for my friend could be perfect for her, but a bad fit for me.
I consider what feels right for the child, and how it would affect them growing up, and if it would be a professional name or a joke.

My children have cultural names since their father is a different nationality. Everyone pronounces them wrong. I wish i would have thought of that. But they both love their names.

I love different names so I have to be careful naming my kids.. I might go a little crazy and regret it in the future LOL..I named my son Mason Brett.. I don't think its too out there..but i haven't met another person named Mason in my life (just because it is not as common here I guess)

I had a different name. Not weird, but not used much. My name is Jolene. My kids are Landan, Lily & Sloan.
