I need to be induced due to pre-e. I now have a new choice in date because I my body is very ready for induction. Should I have her the day after Christmas, or the day after the day after Christmas?

The farther you can push it from a major holiday, the better. Christmas is a hard time for birthdays. People are out of town, so parties are limited. People have spent so much on Christmas gifts, your child may not get as much, not as nice a gift, or worse, a re-gift. My dad's bday is the 26th, and he always felt he got the short end of the stick.

Good luck to you with your pre-eclampsia. I was due on Dec 25th, and I really hopped it would be 2 weeks early. I ended up having to deliver 6.5 wks early thanks to severe pre-e.

I agree! I'm a bit anxious to meet her, so I was considering the 26th, but I think she'll prefer the 27th.

Let her bake as long as you can.

The further out from Xmas the better. You'll get better treatment from the hospital the further it is from a major holiday.

This is after the fact...but whatever is healthier for baby and mom...one day isn't going to make a difference about Christmas/Birthday presents or parties...and it's scary to think that someone believes if you are delivering the baby around a holiday, you're not going to get the best treatment because of it must have had a really bad experience...too bad!

My daughter was born Dec. 28th and it sucks being so close to Christmas. She was 10 days late.
