Most of the time no. Mom wasnt really there until later in my life, I grew up taking care of a little brother only 2 years younger than me...

Yes, I was raised by loving parents and had a happy, carefree childhood.

Raised by my grandparents and it was GREAT! Fishing, shopping, ball, cheerleading, whatever I wanted! My husband says I was spoiled but I turned out fine! And yes I now spoil my kids!

Definitely yes! But most of my cousins in my mom's family would say the same so I believe it's problems caused by my grandparents. My grandparents brought up their kids to be very self-centered and it's almost impossible to be a good parent that way.
I read the book "Bad Childhood, Good Life" and it really helped me a lot!!!

My sister and I also brought up our brother who's 7 years younger than me. Mum was depressed and on many prescription drugs making her loving but useless. But my life really picked up at age 12 when my mum married again to my wonderful Step-dad who really brought me out of my shell.

My Dad left my Mom to start a new family when I was 11. Mom went to work at mulitple jobs. I became Mom and homemaker to my two sisters ages 7 and 2.

On the plus side....I think my early responsiblities helped to make me a great Mom!

I had a wonderful and terrible childhood...I've blocked most of the terrible parts out, however.

My sister and I had a great childhood. We had a very June and Ward - Leave it to Beaver - childhood. Wonderful memories and we are all still so very close.

I had a really hard childhood at times, but I still have fond memories. I feel like if I say that I didn't have time to be a kid it would be a half truth and it would really hurt the feelings of the family I did have growing up - dysfunctional or otherwise!
