How much did you spend for Christmas. I bring this up because one of my colleagues said she had spent $2000 and she wasn't even done. I almost choked on my lunch. I figure we spent 750 for 10 people including hosting dinner.

For our own family we spent about $150 for three people.... but then we adopted 11 families (a total of 29 children) so we ended up spending about $1400 total.

Yeah....we were a $2000+ family. And we've vowed never to do this again...again this year. LOL! (I think we mean it this time.)

we probably ened up speanding about $900 (gulp!) haha We had a budget laid out in advance and were going to limit ourselves to $700. BUT my husband's commission check was bigger than we expected so we soft of relaxed our spending :) We bought more bottles of sparkling cider and what-not than we really needed haha.

we but gifts for 27 people though...so it's hard to keep the cost down! Even if we limit ourselves to $25 a person!

Mine is not only a gift but a tax write off, so you cannot really call it a gift. Once a year I am allowed to gift 10k to each of my children. They don't have to claim it, my daughter had saved up all of her cash and purchased a house. My son is not quite there yet, but he is looking to buy a condo, not a house.

Gifts, well, an electronic rubics cube, dog bones, cat treats, new pet brushes, NO tree, a lemon diamond ring for son's girlfriends thumb ring, some kind of motor for a boat for my son in law. These were not expensive gifts, just things I picked up and stacked on the coffee table. The motor was drop shipped to Key West.

For 10 people and 45 gifts (we celebrate Chanukah and I bought 8 gifts each for my 4 sons and my 17yo's gf and then I bought 1 Christmas gift each for my daughter in law and my 2 grandsons and hubby and I bought just 1 gift for each other for the last night of Chanukah) we spent $355. I spent $50 on each of my 4 sons (who are 22, 21, 18 and 17) and that covered 8 gifts for each of them, $20 on my husband, he spent $20 on me, $7 on each of my 2 grandsons (who are 3 and 2 and too young to even grasp the concept of gifts), $60 on my daughter in law and $40 on my son's girlfriend which was for 8 gifts, also.

For 28 people I spent a total of $600. That was the agreed upon budget and I ended up going over by exactly $0.75! Lol! My husband spent additional money on me, not exactly sure how much he spent, but a lot of it had to do w/ both of us b/c it was to fix our computer that had crashed last month!
