Description:
She turned 18 and said she did not want to be tied down in a relationship. My son is crushed. He really loved this girl. He is 21 and will be going to graduate college soon, and has a lot to offer a girl. I am biased, but, I am his mom. They dated for about a year.

About an hour before they left for dinner, I gave her her gifts, and he gave her some, too. When he came home from dinner alone, he just said "She dumped me at the restaurant" I could hear him crying all night long. Silly girl.

I am upset at my son's girlfriend. She 'dumped' him last night. Of all nights, why Christmas Night? I am scared for my son.

Both of the first two options work.  It was a shitty thing for her to do but it also proves that he is better off without her.  It will hurt for a while but he will get over it, until then support him and love him.

Maybe he'll meet someone who is more mature. I don't know why he was dating a high school girl anyway. It will hurt for a while, but he'll find someone and wonder how he ever thought so much of this girl.

Tell him God closes one door so he can open another one. My husband's ex wife told him two days after Christmas that she wanted him to leave that she needed her "space". They divorced in the following August and we meet the next Feb. We were engaged 3 years ago this morning at midnight. Your son will hurt for a while, but then he will meet someone who will help him forget about all the bad he has gone through and he will be grateful for the good woman he meets and see he had a meet a few bad ones to be grateful for the wonderful one. Good Luck to him.

She is way too young to be getting serious with a wonderful boy like your son. I haven't seen many 18 yr old girls acting appropriately in relationships. Tell him he can do much better.
