Depends on the kid and where we are. My son is 7 and he is allowed to use the men's room alone if we are in a place we frequent (usually a resultant) and/or it isn't busy. Same with my oldest daughter who is 8. But my 6yo daughter isn't allowed to go by herself. She has to go with her sister but preferably with an adult.
If the place is super busy or something doesn't feel right to me then the kids will all go in with me or if they are with my husband they go in the men's room with him.
It doesn't happen often because if all 4 kids are out that means we are both there because neither of us ever takes the kids anywhere alone.

It depends. My kids dont really go alone per say. I usually have an adult go in with them. After this one murder in oceanside it wigged me out and I dont trust public bathrooms and possible psychos.

Depends on the child. My oldest is 8.5 and we're not there yet. He has autism and can't communicate very well, so I'm not ready to let him go into a men's bathroom alone yet.

My younger two do not have autism and can communicate very well... but they are only 4 and 3, so they don't go alone yet. They may be able to go alone at a younger age than my oldest, though...

Yeah, I am worried about wierdos...he's only four yet, so I have a ways to go. Just wondering about it. Also, he is short and needs help washing his hands.

It depends on where were we are. Most places we go have family bathrooms for single occupancy now so it's not really a worry for my 5 year old to go in alone and I stand outside the door. Really I even worry about my 13 year old alone in a mens room so we try to use the restrooms that are safe. I'll admit I'd rather take a big boy (not my 13 year old) into a women's restroom with me than go alone into a men's room. If my 13 year old must go alone I admit to yelling in once in a while to make sure he's okay. I'm sure he's embarrassed but it's better to be embarrassed than abused.

not really sure, my son is 4 but he isn't potty trained fully and he has autism so I'm not sure what he will be doing or at what age he will be doing it.

My 12 yr old still isn't allowed to go in alone unless it's a very safe family place & I am right outside the door.

My boys are 1, 3 & 4 - I have a 2 yr. old girl - and they will go where ever I go. Like many of you, I really like the family restrooms, I think the best way to go. Once they are older I think I will most likely be like 13dragonflies up there. I'd embarrass him for sure, but if I don't hear a response from him, you best believe I going in there. LOL.
