Description:
I've made a lot of changes and have veered away from the way my mother raised me in that I am more expressive and verbal towards my children. I've kept some of the same basic morals and ethics but my children are much closer to me than I could ever have been with my mother. We have open lines of communication unlike the way things were when I was growing up (which can be scary sometimes...). I've also tried to be more positive and supportive.

Would you say you are a different mother than your mom was in raising you?

Are your parenting skills very different from your moms'?

I think parenting has changed over the past generation. Parents are mor einvovled in their kids outside activities than 15 to 20 years ago. I think parents today are mor tuned in to their kids emotions and feelings. One thing I would advice parents is DO NOT SHADOW PARENT> what THAT IS OCCURS WHEN PEOPLE EITHER TRY TO BE JSUT LIKE THEIR PARENT SON EACH DECISION OR ACTION OR THE OPPOSITE AND ARE CONSTANTLY PARENTING "OFF " OF HWO THEIR PARENTS DID THINGS.

My mom didn't raise me. My dad did. So Yes! I'm actually in their lives!

I am a SAHM like she was and I am teaching my kids the same morals and values she taught us, but other than that, I am mostly just doing things the way I feel like they need to be done.

I am a working mother and my mom stayed at home. Also I am more open to my kids where my mom didn't say much to us.

Although I am teaching my daughter the same morals and values, everything else is different.

My mom was a meth head so I'm raising my daughter completely different. I don't have her around people that can hurt her and all my time and energy goes to her not a drug.

My mom was a wonderful mom, and I ill raise my baby the same way she raised me. My methods may be a little different, but the basic premise stands. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
