I am not being offensive with the poll! I am just curious and always have been about this topic.I didn't know how this works for people who practice no religion. I am considering Wicca and such religion, because they have rituals and things.

For atheist or agnostic people: do you allow your children to learn about religion at all? Would you be offended if they went to church or became a member of a religion?

I encourage my children to learn about religion but I will not allow them to be indoctrinated.  My 17 year old has been to church and that only reinforced her atheism.  If they choose to follow a religion of their own free will then I will support them.  I seriously doubt that my oldest will be anything other than an atheist but I think my youngest seems more suited to Paganism.  I guess time will tell.

There are a lot of religions that have "rituals and things".

Yes, I'll let him learn. But not any ONE way of being. My family is hardcore Christian, but he will also be exposed to Judiaism, Pagan, Catholic, ect. But I'm not taking anybody, anywhere, for any reason, at 7 am XD

To anon 12:00 I know that lots of religions have them, that's why I made that comment in the explanation section. I wanted to make it clear that any religion with a ritual was something I was considering a "religion", not just Bible based religions. Sorry if you found that unclear!

I believe the kids should make their own choice no matter what it is. I am more than happy to take them to church or where ever so they can form their own opinion.

I refuse to burden my child with something that she cannot even begin to grasp at the moment, especially something as potentially harmful as religion.

I am agnostic because I find no truth or reason behind religion. But that doesn't mean that I'm right. If my child disagrees with me, then that is her decision, not mine.
