Description:
I'm getting married in August and I'm a SAHM and DF works full time. We are getting back $5000 and I think we should save it, instead of spending it all on one day. We have a 4yr old and we bought our house 3 yrs ago. Am I crazy?

Should I save my tax return or spend i ton my wedding?

Save it!!! I still kick myself two years later for spending so much on my wedding. It is a wonderful day, but you do not need to spend a ton of $$$ on it. Everyone will remember you got married, no one will remember the hundreds of dollars you spent on table cloths and nick nacks! At least put half of it away in the bank.

From our wedding people remember that we had a good DJ and an open bar!! :)

Before we were married, my DH and I decided to not spend a lot on the wedding and spend more on the honeymoon. It was a lot better that way. We had money left over for our home and things we needed after we got back too. It was nice. :)

This is the same question I have had in my mind for a long time. My income tax was sent back with $3000 and we had $800 to spend on rent. After that we kept paying bill after bill and so on. Soon enough before Feb was over our money was gone and for months I had said "I'm spending it on the wedding".. I only spent $200 for our wedding so far on it. Our wedding is April 24th and in 3 weeks and most of our stuff if not here. He doesn't have a tux and his job is going sour now with weather conditions and stuff. He works fulltime outside and I can't work because our son has therepy appt a lot during the month.

If I could go back I would save my money, but spend what I need for our wedding.
