Sorry, I'm a party pooper. I hate shower games! I wish that you could go through the whole thing with out playing any of them! They're corny. JMO! Good luck.
LOL I hate to say it but so am I! The girl who is throwing it for me is really into games so I am trying to find some sort of common ground.
What do people think of using fabric markers to make a onesie for the baby? I was thinking of getting onesies in diff sizes and giving one to each guest and putting out some markers and people can design their own onesie. No time limit, do it at your leisure if you would like to kind of thing.
People are responding well to the onesie idea, and you can get crayola fabric markers for 4.99 at JoAnns, and JoAnns takes Michaels and Hobby lobby coupons so you can usually find Michaels coupons for 50% off... :) I did a practice one, the trick is to gently stretch the fabric while you draw (holding your hand inside the onesie worked best for me) so that the fabric doesn't bunch up while you are drawing.
I picked creative games...but they need to be SPELLED OUT for people. not everyone is comfortable with their creativity!
Also...gift related bingo is always fuNn!
we played a game where everyone got a index card and a pen and wrote down their fav baby name and then the one we liked best one a gift...we played pin the diaper on the baby..then we played don't drop ther baby where you get these little baby looking dolls that are about an inch long and you put then in ice and freeze them then you put the ice on a spoon and whoever doesn't drop the ice cube whens..it's best to do this one over a bowl or can of some sort...we played a few more but i can't remember them right now..
I was going to do the scrapbook pages but then I thought about how most of my friends are more creative but less artistic. I decided to have everyone draw a picture of what they thought my kid would be like when he or she grew up. It was SO funny! After all of the pictures were drawn, I worked for days on a paper quilt to hang on the wall in my daughter's room. In it, I had all of the pictures with little trinkets and memories of the shower in between. At the top, I wrote in huge letters, "Whoever You Are, We Love You!" One day I want to get a frame big enough for it so my daughter can always have it and know how much we back up whatever wonderful things she decides to accomplish in her life.
