When my son was about four months old, we decided to start going to a mommy and me music class. And let me tell you, it was the best decision we ever made.

At this age, he was just starting to show curiosity in new things. He was really getting a sense of his surroundings - sight, touch, smell, and sound. So, a music class was the perfect place to discover a whole new world of stimulation.

Each class started with a bit of social interaction. It was great time for me to interact with the new moms, who were just like me, and a great opportunity for my son to scoot around with the other babies who were all about the same age. It was amazing to see his eyes light up with the site of other children. He was really inspecting them! He'd reach out to feel their faces, or touch their hair. He jabbered at them, and they did it right back.

Next up was the music! Our teacher would bring out guitars, tambourines, bongos, bells and more, and we were all able to take part in the action. My baby's whole body seemed to move and wiggle to the music. It seemed as if he was really enjoying it. I think we both were!
