I asked that because I noticed some moms said 16. I thought that was a little old. I went to my first sleepover when I was 6 or 7.

I think kids today are given too much freedom too soon. Too many parents give in to the "peer pressure" and let their kids do the things their friends are doing even when they know their kid is ready for it.

There is several different sleep overs - The General over night with a friend or two, or a slumber party type thing with a group of girls, a Birthday party sleep over and so on. :)

I would have to agree with NicsmomRJL...My little sister is 15 and she has gotten away with much more then I ever did that that age. She has been dating the same boy since she was in 6th grade, lost her virginity really young, doesnt respect my parents, and I feel it is because they didnt put their foot down in the first place. One thing always leads to another. If they know they can get away with something little, they will continue to try to push their luck, good luck...I know with girls and them trying to find themselves in peer pressure is hell.

This comment is for your daughter. Have fun being a child. Enjoy every moment you can. And never stop listening to your mom. Mothers have the best advice, you may not agree now but some day you will realize it!

Cool survey... Just be careful...My moma was not hard on me and I was a pretty good kid...Good luck with your dd... Hope she can understand the rules you have set for her... Just try to be patient.. She will not learn that everything you are doing for her is in her best interest til she is an adult and have children of her own... God bless
