I find it interesting that some of the moms will allow their children to go on a field trip & the grandparents house while being punished. I can understand the field trip since it's paid for in advance & there are no refunds. For those who don't want to spank their child in public while they're throwing a tantrum, you can grab them firmly by the hand or arm & give them a stern look. It worked for me in the past.

I think that if your not the dad or mom don't touch the child. I also think that grandparents are a good example for kids so even if they are in trouble grandma's house is still OK

I've actually had problems with people thinking that spanking/punishing my son was okay. I cannot STAND the thought of it. I hope that everyone makes these topics clear to their friends and caretakers.

In some cases grandparents also spoil a lot. My kids see Grandma and Grandpa a lot. Their grandparents have said they think we are doing a great job with the kids but they don't necessarily want to go along with the disciplinary action so if there is trouble they would rather the kids just stay home. Not getting to go to Ma & Papa's for the weekend is enough to straighten my son up.
